St Helena is home to believers of various denominations. Since the founding of the community, Catholics and Reformed Protestants have lived side by side. The Roman Catholic community in St. Helena never had its own parish priest, but fell under the parish in Nova Moldova (until 1850, in 1897-1930 and since 1940 until now) and in Gernik (1850-1897, 1930-1940).

The first Catholic house of prayer, which also served as a school, was built here in 1851. Later, thanks to the tireless efforts of the local teacher Jindřich Schlögl, sufficient funds were raised for the construction of a new church, which began in 1879 and was completed in 1880.
It is a single-nave building with a bell tower above the eastern wall and a semicircular end, built in the historicist style with elements of late classicism. The original altar survived until today and features a statue of St. Helena, the patron saint of the church. The statue was donated to the believers of St. Helena by the Czech town of Chrudim. There is also a hand-made organ.
